PULSION grants PiCCO and CeVOX license to DIXTAL

Integration of PULSION’s technologies into DIXTAL’s patient monitoring systems / DIXTAL’s excellent market position in Brazil promises faster market development

Munich, August 16, 2007 – PULSION Medical Systems AG, worldwide market leader in minimally invasive cardiovascular monitoring of critically ill patients, and DIXTAL, Brazilian market leader in multiparameter patient monitoring, have reached agreement on a worldwide non-exclusive licence which allows PULSION’s technologies, PiCCO and CeVOX, to be integrated into DIXTAL patient monitoring systems.

PULSION's CeVOX-Technology offers a minimally invasive method for the continuous monitoring of the body’s oxygen balance, making it possible to identify acute risks to the cardiovascular system in critically ill patients at an early stage.
PiCCO-Technology permits complete and low-risk monitoring and management of cardiovascular functions in critically ill patients either in the intensive care unit or during surgery.
DIXTAL is the leading Brazilian medical device manufacturer serving critical care professionals, and provides multiparameter monitoring systems, electrocardiographs, anesthesia machines, ventilators, and hospital information systems among other products.
The signing of this licence agreement marks a further step in PULSION’s strategy of speeding up the global market penetration of its product lines by integration into multi-parameter monitoring systems of the major med-tech manufacturers. Based on this agreement and the excellent market position of DIXTAL, there are big opportunities to push the market penetration in Brazil faster as planned before.
“We are consequently following our strategy by licensing two of our monitoring technologies to another manufacturer in the multiparameter-monitoring business. Next to Philips Medical Systems, Dräger Medical and Schiller AG, DIXTAL will also be able to offer its customers the superior PULSION parameters for cardiovascular monitoring of critically ill patients. Subsequently the number of installed PiCCO and CeVOX sockets will increase”, says Matthias Bohn, COO and Director of Business Development at PULSION Medical Systems AG.
“DIXTAL is extremely pleased with this agreement since now our customers - and especially a large number of patients - have access to PiCCO and CeVOX technologies, that will ultimately contribute to safer and better care”, says Rafael Holzhacker, R&D Director at DIXTAL.
